I have recently secured a job as a drama worker for a local council and am very much looking forward to meeting the young people involved.

I’m soon to be volunteering with a Glasgow based Youth Theatre, an amazing Glasgow-based organisation running free drama workshops and projects mainly in economically deprived areas of Glasgow.

EXPERIENCE
For a local council, working with children ages 5 upwards at various groups (position starting end of April / start of May 2012)
At a Glasgow-based young people’s theatre organisation. This role should start April / May 2012.
Higher English and / Or Drama. This gave me further experience of lesson planning, individual pupil assessment, time management, learning styles and the secondary school curriculum (SQA).
Within my local primary school, this voluntary placement allowed me to increase my experience with young children and knowledge of various teaching and educational methods, related issues such as Child Protection, Curriculum for Excellence, Active Learning and more.
Project included:
-Scripting, directing and acting in group-devised play ‘the Oz Factor’
-Creating and delivering an accompanying workshop (Performance and storytelling games)
-The play and workshops took place at varied community venues.
- Participants included children age 3 upwards, homeless adults, adults and children with additional support needs.

-I worked at an Edinburgh based dance school while carrying out my own dance training for several years.
-Involved assisting teaching for ages 3 upwards of Ballet, Flamenco and Jazz, backstage help with shows, dance-wear sales and administration as required for the running of the school.
